Trialist who appeared alongside a number of first-team regulars in a hastily-arranged friendly against Friernhay at St James Park on 27 September 1919 following the postponement of City's game against Watford because of a rail strike.  

Reported to have been with the Royal Flying Corps and playing at outside-right, he lined up in the following side: Pym; Coleburne, Coates; Rigby, Popplewell, Shreeve; Vennard, Oldacre, Goodwin, Lincoln, Dockray.
