Seaton United (a)
Exhibition Match

SEATON UNITED 2-6 EXETER CITY.
Thursday, April 29th 1920

Exeter City's full Southern League side played an exhibition match at Seaton against the local side, and won by six goals to two. The whole local population turned out, and the Grecians were given a wonderful reception.

City took a strong side to Seaton yesterday, where they played a "friendly " with a team representative of the district. The weather was delightfully fine, and the game was witnessed by a large crowd. As was to be expected, the Citizens proved the better balanced side, although they only led by the odd goal in three at the interval, Goodwin end Makin having scored for the visitors and R. Rodgere for the "locals." In the second half, however, Exeter City did practically all the attacking, further goals for them being added by Goodwin, Popplewell, and Dockray, while Collier pat through his own goal in endeavouring to stop a shot by Mitton. R. Rodgers put on another goal for the home-sters. who retired beaten by six goals to two.

After the match both sides were entertained at tea by Mr. C. C. Gould (Chairman of the Urban Council), who was heartily thanked, on the proposition of Mr. A. Norman Kendall.

The following played for Seaton:- Buckett, goal; Watts and White, full backs; Dunn, Henley, and Collyer, half-backs; H. Rodgers, R. Rodgers, Reid, White, and Dolbear, forwards.
