Biographical Text
Ken Grant played for Exeter City reserves in the late 1940s. Also a keen cricketer, he had served in the RAF in India.
Educated at Mount Radford school in Exeter but born and brought up in Whimple, he joined the RAF in wartime and played football for the service when serving in India.
Returning to Exeter after the end of hostilities, he was aged around twenty-two when he started playing for City's reserves in the 1947/48 season and a programme for the home Southern League game against Bath City on 21 February 1948 indicates Ken as playing in the inside-right position. He later continued his football career with a number of local clubs including Exmouth Town.
Around the same time as he was playing for the Grecians Ken was playing cricket for Whimple, his home club.
