Slocombe, Fearne

Exeter City Women was delighted to announce the signing of two players on loan from Bristol City Women on the 3rd January 2025.

Maya Kendall and Fearne Slocombe have joined until the end of the season, strengthening Abbie Britton’s squad at a crucial part of the season. Both players are regulars in the Robins’ under-21 squad, and have made the move to Devon to further their development.

Fearne is an 18-year-old centre-back, who made her Robins debut in the League Cup against Manchester City when she was only 16, also appearing in the Women’s Championship this season.

At the end of the 2024/25 season, Fearne was awarded the Robins High Performance Award, given to the player who has shown excellence in their performances throughout the season, whilst maintaining great potential to take their development further.

On the double signing, Abbie Britton said: “When you've got the opportunity to bring in two players from Bristol who have got the experience they've got at such a young age already, was a no brainer for us.

"We're a small, tight-knit squad anyway and we needed to add depth in the areas they play. It was an obvious solution. They've been training with us now for five or six weeks, and they've fitted into the group really well with quality on and off the ball."

Fearne has been allocated the squad number number 5, making her debut as a second half substitute in the WFA Cup 4th round at home to Sunderland on the 12th January 2025.

Exeter City Women were delighted to announce that Fearne Slocombe has rejoined the club, in June 2025 this time on a permanent deal, subject to FA registration.

Fearne initially signed for City in January of this year on loan from Bristol City, and went on to make 10 appearances for Abbie Britton’s side in the second half of the 2024/25 season. Having now left the Robins, the Bristolian has returned to Devon’s capital, and this time it’s permanently!

On returning to City as a permanent Grecian, Fearne said: "It feels really good, I'm really excited to permanently sign and be a proper part of the squad.

"I get along really well with all the girls and management so it was a really easy decision."
