Exeter City Women were delighted to announce the signing of striker Ellie Sara on July 7th 2025 

The 19 years old prolific forward, signed a contract after joining from Plymouth Argyle, where she scored 37 goals in the past two seasons on the Cornish border. 

As well as playing for the Pilgrims Ellie has also played for Bridgwater United, and her county and country at various youth levels, including training with England under-16s.

Linking up with Abbie Britton's squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, Ellie expressed her excitement at now playing in red and white.

"I'm so happy to get this over the line, it's been so long. I'm so happy to get into training and get going now," Ellie told us. "The standard here is amazing."

The forward has been a long-term target for City boss Abbie Britton, and she 

"When a player of her calibre becomes available in this division you have to snap that up.

"Sophie and Sarah were phenomenal last season and I'm sure they'll have fantastic seasons again but we can't just rely on those two scoring goals for us week-in-week-out. So to have someone like Ellie, who is a proven goalscorer, come into our ranks and bolster our squad, it was a no-brainer for us.

"She's delighted to be here, and looking forward to putting a smile back on her face and some confidence back into her game."

Ellie made her league debut for Exeter WFC at Cheltenham on the 17th August 2025 as second half substitute for Leah Burridge in the 69th minute.
