Charlie Legg, a striker from Cornwall, had a brief injury-hit preseason trial with Exeter City in 1998. He later returned to the club as an academy coach.

A prominent goalscorer in the South Western League with Newquay, Penzance, Porthleven and St Austell, he turned out for City in a friendly at Newquay in July 1998 before suffering a second-half-injury. He had caught City’s eye as a member of the Porthleven team that reached the quarter-finals of the FA Vase in 1998 alongside fellow striker Martin Gritton who went on to appear for Plymouth Argyle, Torquay United and other Football League clubs.

Charlie, who also played for Dorchester Town, later moved into fitness and coaching and worked for a number of clubs and colleges in a variety of different sports including having a spell as an Exeter City academy coach.
