Biographical Text
Sunderland winger Timur Tutierov, an Ukrainian under-21 international, joined Exeter City on loan in January 2026 and scored on his debut against Stevenage.
Growing up in Crimea, Timur played age-group football for TSK Simferopol and Dinaz Vyshhorod. Turning sixteen in 2021 he joined the youth set-up of Ukrainian Premier League club Kolos Kovalivka where he progressed to the first-team squad. Spotted by Sunderland he moved to England in 2023 and was soon playing under-21 football for the Wearside club. Having appeared for the first-team in friendlies, but not in competitive football (aside from being an unused substitute on four occasions), he moved to Exeter City on loan on 16 January 2026 by which time he had also made appearances for Ukraine at under-19 and under-21 level.
Immediately drafted into the City squad for the game against Stevenage, Timur came on as a 60th minute substitute and marked his debut by scoring in second-half stoppage time (a feat he repeated the following week in the game at Port Vale).
