First working at Exeter City as an intern from the University of Exeter, Marcus Flitcroft served the club in a variety of roles including head of recruitment and technical director. 

From Wellington in Somerset, Marcus attended Bridgwater College before gaining a degree in sports and exercise science from the University of Exeter in 2013. Having worked as a performance analyst intern at the club after graduating, he then spent five years in the roles of lead academy analyst and first team match analyst. Appointed head of recruitment and performance analysis in 2019, he became City’s technical director in 2023 when Gary Caldwell was first-team manager.
