Possibly one of a number of players with the same surname who were associated with either St Sidwell's United or Exeter City in the first-quarter of the 20th century. The links between these individuals is unclear - or even how many there were - starting with the player who is known to have played in a friendly for St Sidwell's United against Friernhay in February 1902. A 'Camble' also appeared as an amateur in the public practice match on 20 August 1910 during the early seasons of the club's professional era when the reserves were in the Plymouth and District League. 

Birth records - where some individuals are rather young to play and others too old - do not help with clarification. In some instances there may even be contemporary confusion with players called 'Campbell'.
