Exeter City Women strengthened their squad ahead of the Devon Derby against Plymouth on the 18th February 2026 with the signing of Ellie Sargent.

Sargent arrives in Devon after a successful spell at Gwalia United, making 31 appearances in tier three and scoring on 11 occasions. The flying forward was a key member of the then Cardiff City Ladies squad who beat the Grecians to promotion in 2023, hitting 17 goals to secure the title for her side.

Equally effective out wide or in the forward line, Sargent will add proven quality to the Grecians squad and could be key to the team’s success in the final two months of the season.

City Manager Abbie Britton is delighted to add Sargent to the squad. “Ellie is someone who has always caused us problems in the past, she is an exceptional footballer with pace and attacking threat that will excite our supporters. I am pleased she has chosen Exeter City as the next stop in her career and I confident this will be a good fit for all.”

Ellie wears the Number 25 shirt for the Grecians.
