Wickens, Chris
Chris Wickens was an early and important contributor to the Exeter City Supporters' Trust-led recovery in the club's fortunes after 2003. He was to serve as an elected trustee.
Chris was a driving force behind The Far Post on Bedford Street which was an innovative Supporters' Trust outlet that raised funds, sold merchandise, hosted discussion and helped promote the trust at a time when the club faced immense uncertainty. Despite living in Cheltenham, he remained a constant and committed supporter of both Exeter City and the trust.
Chris Wickens died in December 2025 aged seventy-six. South Devon-born, he was well-known in Gloucestershire business circles especially in the insurance sector. A plaque was subsequently unveiled in the St James' Park memorial garden in April 2026 when it was also revealed that his family had donated some of Chris's Exeter City memorabilia to the club museum.
