Biographical Text

Former Leicester, Southampton and Celtic goalkeeper Ian Andrews was a physiotherapist with Exeter City in the early days of Paul Tisdale's time as manager.

Starting in Mansfield Town's youth team, Ian was soon signed by Leicester City for whom he became first-choice in the mid-1980s until a change of manager led to him signing for Celtic in a big-money move. Failing to impress in Scotland, he moved on Southampton and then Bournemouth.

Qualifying as a physiotherapist whilst still playing, he was subsequently engaged at the University of Bath where former Southampton colleague Paul Tisdale was a coach. With Tisdale soon taking the manager's job at St James' Park, Ian followed in his path and remained with the Grecians for several seasons before returning to the Nottingham area where he opened a successful physiotherapy practice in Bingham.
