Cooke, Sally

Sally Cooke - an Exeter City fan, volunteer and employee from the 1960s onwards - was club secretary when the supporters' trust took control in 2003.

First taken to St James' Park in the 1960s, Sally started to volunteer with the Junior Grecians when her children started going to games. In time she washed kit at the training ground before becoming employed as club secretary.

In an eventful twelve-month period for the club, Sally found herself travelling up to London to bring Michael Jackson to Exeter before facing the challenge of relegation to the Conference immediately followed by the supporters' trust gaining control. Described at the time as 'indomitable' Sally was still at the secretary's desk - via two games against Manchester United - when City returned to the Football League in 2008.

In keeping with her North Devon farming background, Sally later entered the world of sheep when she became secretary of the Valais Blacknose Society.
