Singer and actress Patti Boulaye performed during Michael Jackson’s visit to St James’ Park in 2002.
A friend of American pop performer Michael Jackson, Patti Boulaye travelled from London to Exeter on the special train in June 2002 to perform a gospel song at the publicity event at St James’ Park organised during John Russell and Mike Lewis’s spell at the club.
Appearing also with David Blaine and Uri Geller, both well-known illusionists of the time, Nigerian-born Patti Boulaye had risen to fame by winning a television talent contest in 1978 and had subsequently enjoyed a long career as a singer and actress on stage, television and film. Awarded an OBE for her services to charity and entertainment, she was involved in a number of charitable programmes in various parts of the African continent.
