Foot, Norman

Norman Foot was Exeter City’s club secretary between 1937 and 1946.

Norman Foot, originally from the Totnes area, had been assisting the secretary at Torquay United when he was recruited by Exeter City. Aged twenty-three, he was the youngest secretary in the Football League at the time and, after serving in the military during the war, was heavily-involved in making sure the club and St James’ Park was ready for the full resumption of football in 1946.

He died in the Torbay area aged sixty-seven in 1981,
