Lyon, James

James Lyon was an EFL Community Hero in February 2025.

James, a double amputee, started playing for the Exeter City Community Trust's Ability Counts team before becoming a volunteer for the community trust in 2018 and coaching its parasports team. As well as being named as a 'community hero' he was invited to the Cat and Fiddle to watch first-team training.

From Torquay, James was born with Cerebral Palsy and had an arm amputated in 2002 followed by a leg in 2016. An engineer by profession, he first became involved in football through Torquay United's disability programme.
