Wilf Walsh was appointed as chair of Exeter City in May 2026 in succession to Nick Hawker, Clive Harrison, Richard Pym and Laurence Overend who had all held the position over the previous twelve months.
Born in Heavitree, Mr Walsh studied law at university and worked for many years in the betting industry for the Coral organisation. He later became chief executive officer of Carpetright and during his tenure arranged for the company to become City's main sponsor between 2020 and 2023.
Becoming involved in sports administration during his time with Coral, Mr Walsh served as chair of the Racecourse Association, a board member of the British Horseracing Authority and chair of Cricket Scotland before taking the chair of Exeter City following a challenging year behind the scenes at St James' Park.
