With a long career in construction and major infrastructure projects, which included serving as chief executive of the British branch of an international business, Mr Lee first joined the club's board in 2013 and helped oversee the construction of the Adam Stanfield stand which was completed in 2018. He was also involved in the later redevelopment of the club's training facilities at the Cat and Fiddle.

Returning to the board in May 2026, after an absence of six years, Mr Lee - a supporter of long-standing - took his place in the boardroom at the same time as Wilf Walsh's appointment as chair of the club board.
