A player called Rouncefield appeared at left-back for the Red and Whites against the Blue and Reds in the public practice match held in advance of the 1929/30 season.

Nothing is known of this player and newspaper searches only point to a goalkeeper of the same name who was prominent in West Cornwall football around this time. This begs the question whether the player had been invited for a trial and was asked to stay on to make up the numbers with the club preferring to field contracted goalkeepers Jack Alderson and Tom Holland on the two opposing sides.
