Commin, Frederick
Frederick Commin was the architect who, in 1908, drew up the plans for the conversion of St James' Park into an enclosed football ground with permanent structures.
Frederick James Commin, born in Exeter in 1854, practised as both a surveyor and architect in Exeter and London. He died in Wandsworth in 1933 at the age of seventy-eight. He worked on a wide range of buildings in Devon including chapels, parish halls and schools with the methodist church on Sidwell Street being an example close to St James' Park.
