With the Grecians recently-promoted to Division Three, Albert Keetley was appointed trainer in October 1964. It was intended that his appointment would allow Jack Edwards to concentrate on his managerial responsibilities.
A trainer at Bradford City since 1960, Albert Keetley had been a full-back with Bury and Bournemouth having started his career as an amateur with Nottingham Forest. At the end of his professional career he had played for Weymouth before going into coaching and training.
With Jack Edwards steppung down to be replaced by Ellis Stuttard, after an awkward hiatus, the new manger sacked Mr Keetley in November 1965.
He died in the Bournemouth area in October 2019 at the age of eighty-nine.
