T.A.J.Hibberd, electrical and mechanical engineers based a few hundred yards away from St James' Park, were Exeter City's shirt sponsors between 1989 and 1992. With adverts only appearing on City's shirts from 1984, Mr Hibberd's business was only the third name to be carried by the Grecians and the deal may not have happened at all were it not for the death of Nick Facer, the previous sponsor, in a car crash.

Due to the Grecians winning their first divisional championship during the period of Mr Hibberd's sponsorship, shirts from that era later became something of a collector's item and continued to be sported by supporters who weren't yet alive at the time of City's success under Terry Cooper.
