Biographical Text

Kevin Meacock, who had just finished an apprenticeship with Bristol City, was given a trial by Exeter City in 1981. Not engaged he later played in Australia, New Zealand and in the Football League with Cardiff City.

Then eighteen, Kevin played several times for Exeter City's youth team before heading back to Ashton Gate where he was given a second chance. Eventually released in 1983 he spent a season in New Zealand with Gisborne United ahead of heading home and turning out for Devizes Town in the Western League.

He then returned to the professional ranks with Cardiff City between 1984 and 1986 making twenty-five league appearances and scoring on three occasions. Without the offer of a new contract, he played for several clubs in Brisbane and Sydney either side of a second stint with Gisborne United in New Zealand. Finishing his playing career in 1994, Kevin settled in Brisbane, became a youth coach and later ran his own football academy.
