Kevin Instance became Exeter City's safety officer in 2015 and served in the position for many years afterwards.

Originaly from Cornwall - and a former police officer - Kevin set up Gull Events, an event security business company in 2015. In addition to soon taking on a 'matchday' role at Exeter City, he also performed similar duties for Plymouth Argyle and Bath rugby as well as working on the 2015 Rugby World Cup and the London Marathon.

His responsibilities at St James' Park covered crowd safety and operations including stewarding operations and crowd compliance.
