Dawes, Matt

Matthew Dawes joined Exeter City Football Club in 2021 and currently serves as Interim Revenue Manager, having previously held the role of Commercial Manager, having cone from working with brands such as Pepsi, Budweiser, Britvic, and Philips.

Originally from North Devon, Matt gained a degree in business and marketing from Plymouth University before spending a decade working in different parts of the country.

His work has focused on sponsorship, advertising, hospitality and commercial partnerships, supporting the Club's revenue generation and engagement with the local business community. During his time at the Club, he has helped introduce several new commercial partners, including Optimising IT, FootAsylum, Bidfood, Nevada Construction, Taking Care, Selco Builders Warehouse and HEL Performance, the latter becoming the largest sponsorship agreement in the Clubs history.

Matthew also has a family connection to Exeter City’s history through his wife, Samantha, who is the great-great-granddaughter of Exeter City legend Ellis Crompton.

Combining a professional role within the Club with an appreciation of its heritage, he is passionate about preserving Exeter City's history and supporting its future as a supporter-owned football club.
