Charlie Howell, a former Exeter College student, first became involved in media work for Exeter City when at school and performed a number of roles over the following decade or so.

First becoming a media volunteer at the age of thirteen, Charlie was a journalism student at Sheffield University between 2021 and 2024 when he was also Exeter City's assistant programme editor. Becoming a full-time media assistant with the club in July 2024, he later worked as social media and content officer until October 2025 when he left go travelling.

He returned to Exeter City as media officer for the women's team in April 2026.
