Phillips, Matt
Matt Phillips was first elected to the board of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust in 2016 before returning to the role in 2025 after a break of several years.
A former pupil of Exeter School, and a graduate of Lancaster University, Matt first watched Exeter City as a child in 1998. Working for PwC in Manchester after graduating in 2013, he specialised as an actuarial consultant and qualified as a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary and as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Initially elected as a trustee in 2016, Matt stepped down after two years but sought re-election in 2025 at a time of uncertainty behind the scenes at St James’ Park. Successfully re-elected to the trust board, he soon played an influential role in examining the club’s finances whilst providing financial and governance advice to both the trust and club boards.
