David Lee was Exeter City's first-ever analyst and was with the club at the time of promotion from League Two in 2009. He later enjoyed a successful career in America rising to become sporting director of New York City FC and general manager of Sporting Kansas City.

David started working with Exeter City when he was completing a masters in performance analysis at Cardiff University and, after the 2009 promotion success, remained in post until 2011 when he was 'head hunted' by the New York Bulls.

Appointed head of recruitment by the newly-founded New York City FC in 2014, he subsequently became technical director followed by a stint as sporting director through until October 2025 when he became president of soccer operations and general manager of Sporting Kansas City.
