Alan Quick founded Proud Grecians, Exeter City's LGBTQ+ supporters group, in February 2018. 

Prior to establishing Proud Grecians, Alan - who was editor of the Crediton Courier - had been involved in a range of organisations and campaigns including The Justin Campaign, Football v Homophobia, Kick it Out and Stonewall's Rainbow Laces. He was also one of the founders of Exeter Pride and a member of the Devon FA's Inclusion Advisory Group as well as several local anti-bullying and youth organisations.

In April 2017 Alan featured in the Outstanding Contribution to Sport awards organised by the Express and Echo for his work with the Exeter City's One Game One Community Group. Shortly afterwards he helped with the launch of Isca Apollo, an Exeter LGBT+ football team and, having formed Proud Grecians, was short-listed for a national diversity award.

Alan was also a director of Inclusive Exeter.
