Geoff Gearing was the original chair of the Senior Reds, Exeter City's group for older supporters. He was also a competitive triathlete until well into his eighties.

With former Tottenham Hotspur and England player Steve Perryman - then City's director of football - lending his active support, Geoff was one of a small group of supporters who helped found the Senior Reds in 2008. Soon appointed as chair, he remained in post until 2016 before handing over to Phil Bater. 

Always a keen sportsman, Geoff took up triathlon in 1991 at the age of fifty-seven and was still competing into his mid-eighties.
