Alex Pope worked for Exeter City between 2018 and 2024 in a number of coaching, administrative and retailing roles. He also coached Tiverton Town and Wellington during this time.

A football studies and business graduate of Solent University, Alex later gained a masters in coaching from South Wales University before joining Exeter City as a youth coach in September 2018. Remaining at the club for six years, he also worked in ticketing, as technical director of the women's team and in administrative roles within the academy.    

Gaining UEFA coaching qualifications, he was co-manger of Wellington (2019-23) and later first-team coach at Tiverton Town. From 2022 he ran a 'regional talent centre' in the Exeter area in co-operation with Exeter City and the Junior Premier League.
