Stationed at the entrance to the Cowshed to sell her tickets, Lisa had already been a regular supporter for several years when she was invited to help out on matchdays. Speaking on a visit to St James' Park in June 2026, she remembered that the 'perks' of the job included free admission to the match and entry to the players' lounge afterwards. 

Another of Lisa's responsibilities involved taking a tray of tea to the changing rooms at halftime; the mere mention of which was sufficient to bring back memories of "mud and Deep Heat" more than thirty-five years later. 

From a footballing family - which enjoyed its own "special spot" on the Big Bank - Lisa's cousin Chris Shephard played for Exeter City between 2008 and 2012. Both her father Roy and grandfather Robin won representative honours for the Devon county team. Roy once had the chance of a trial with Leeds United whilst Robin spent time with Northampton Town in his youth before playing for Exeter City 'A' in the early 1950s. 

Later as Lisa Jawad, the former City ticketseller became a nurse at the Heavitree site of the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
