Dan Hewitt became a coach with the Exeter City Community Trust in 2015 and later took the role of the trust's para sports development officer.

Managing the Exeter City Ability Counts team from 2019, Dan also coached the Exeter Powerchair Football Club as well as taking on the wider responsibily of para sports development officer. He was the community trust's coach of the year in 2022 by which time he had introduced walking football as an activity for older players.
