William Allen was an Exeter City academy lead coach between 2022 and 2024.

Originally from South Devon, William spent time as an assistant coach in a university in China before studying football development and coaching at Plymouth Marjons University between 2020 and 2023. After spending part of his course coaching on an exchange programme with a college in Pennsylvania, he started as a ’pre-academy’ coach with Exeter City whilst still a student.  

After graduating and becoming the academy’s under-10s lead coach in July 2023, William moved to New Zealand in 2024 as youth development lead for the 13-to-17 age group at Northland Football Club. 

Thereafter he joined Brisbane FC in Australia at the start of 2025 where he was initially a player development coach prior to becoming lead coach for the 8 to 12-year-old category.
