A former student of Richard Huish College in Taunton, Ed qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of the West of England in Bristol and began work with the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust in 2013. Specialising in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, he worked in the Bridgwater and Taunton areas and was able to assist City as matchday physio when other members of staff were unavailable. 

He later became the Somerset NHS trust’s musculoskeletal physiotherapy operational manager in 2021.
