Matt Bamsey reported on Exeter City when working for the Sunday Independent and Express and Echo between 2001 and 2011.

Educated at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School and Cardiff University, Matt studied journalism and public relations ahead of joining the Plymouth-based Sunday Independent in 2001. Appointed sports editor of the Express and Echo in 2003 he spent eight years covering Exeter City before leaving to become a teacher.

From 2018 he worked for LiveWest, a housing association based in Clyst Honiton, as media relations and external communications manager.
