John Adcock, who was from Dawlish and involved in the milk industry, was chair of the Exeter City's vice-President's club during the early 1980s. He also sponsored and lent support to City's youth and reserve teams.

Later helping set up a community transport scheme in Dawlish, Mr Adcock died in 2016.
