Local football enthusiast, former player and one-time referee Clive Martin became an Exeter City museum volunteer during the 2020s. 

Grandson of Arthur Martin - a pre-war Southern League referee and Exeter City steward of immediate post-war period - Clive was involved in Exeter area football from the late 1960s initially as a player, then as a referee and eventually as programme editor and administrator with Exwick Villa. 

A bookbinder by profession and indomitable enthusiast for the local game, Clive’s long-established Devon & Exeter Past Football Teams Facebook page charted players and teams from the second-half of the twentieth century onwards attracting nearly seven thousand followers in the process. 

Clive primarily helped the museum project by  scanning, digitising and uploading thousands of  programmes to the Grecian Archive.
