Josh joined Exeter City's academy in 2013 from Yeovil Town.

In August 2017 Josh started a scholarship at St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada together with Dan Hayfield (a former City academy player who was later with Tiverton Town and Bath City).

Josh played university football with St Francis Xavier until 2022 and also appeared for FC Buffalo (United States) and Calgary Foothills (Canada).
