Alan Banks | Silver Plate
This engraved silver plate was awarded to Alan Banks in 1971 for breaking the Exeter City record for goals scored. Joining ECFC in 1964 and contributing to a league promotion in his first year, Banks is one of Exeter City’s most successful players to date, and was the first City player to score over 100 goals while at St James Park. In February 1971 Banks scored his 90th goal for Exeter City, one of 21 goals he scored in that season, breaking the previous club record set by Graham Rees in 1966. To commemorate this record breaking achievement banks was awarded this silver plate by then Mayor Herbert Samuel Sargent.
