A trainee between 1988 and 1990, and a professional during the 1990/91, he was named on the bench for the league games against Leyton Orient on 23 February 1991 and Stoke City on 2 March 1991 without playing. Leaving St James' Park at the end of the season, he enjoyed a lengthy career in Westcountry non-league football.
