Richard Smeath was Exeter City's youth team goalkeeper in 1988/89.
With Mel Gwinett and Dave Walter both injured there was a posibility that Richard may have played a first-team game hmself towards the end of the season were it not for him suffereing an injury himself. The club responded by signing Kevin Miller from Newquay and Richrd's chances of ever making the first-team receeded even further.
