In 1964 City were promoted for the very first time in their history. Playing in an all red strip with white-collar trim, Jack Edwards’ team finished third to take the final promotion spot. ‘The team that Jack built’ contained some of the club’s greatest players, including Hall of Famers Arnold Mitchell, Alan Banks and Dermot Curtis.
