Queen's Park Rangers (h)

WINNING GOAL SCORED BY EDGLEY

Saturday, February 25.
Played at St James's Park, Exeter.

EXETER CITY O QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS 1.

Last season: City 0 Rangers 1.

The Londoners improved their position in the League table at Exeter's expense on the St James's Park ground this afternoon, and just managed to win by the only goal scored. The scorer of the all important goal was Edgley, who will be remembered by Exeter City followers as a member of the Aston Villa side in the two F.A.Cup matches between the Villa and the Grecians before the war.

The Rangers deserved their victory, being slightly the better side, particularly in attack. Crompton re-appeared in the City's intermediate line, and it was hoped that his presence would prove to be just sufficient to turn the balance in their favour. Exeter were, however, deficient in method, and brilliantly though their captain performed, as always, support for him was lacking in other departments of the team.

After thirty minutes the Rangers took the lead through Edgley, the ball glancing into the net off Fryer's foot, and it was by this score that the visitors won the match.

The City Reserves, lacking a Southern League fixture, had a "day off" today.
