Norwich v Exeter City
Saturday, November 11th.
At The Nest, Rosary Road.
NORWICH CITY 6 EXETER CITY 0.
Last season: Norwich 0 Exeter 0.
Exeter City at home last week proved much too lively for the "Canaries," and scored two goals without a reply. The curious little ground at The Nest has been the means of upsetting many good sides, but Exeter nevertheless were full of hope. The weather was ideal, and there were six thousand present at the start.

EXETER CITY
Norwich City defeated Exeter by six goals to nothing in a remarkable game at the Nest. Peart, who replaced Dennison at centre-forward, scored twice, and Austin and Wright also got a goal each in the first half. Lythgoe and Austin added further points after the interval without response from Exeter City.
FOUR GOALS BEFORE HALF TIME
A fast pace was maintained from the kick-off, with Norwich having rather the better of the game, but it was almost twenty minutes before Peart opened the scoring for the Canaries, after Fryer had pushed away a centre from Austin.
Austin, with an oblique shot which beat Fryer both for pace and direction, increased the lead. The referee, after consulting a linesmen, ignored Exeter's appeal for offside.
Mathieson made a great individual effort to reduce the lead, dribbling cleverly through until tackled by Hodge. He then gave the ball smartly to Crockford, but O'Hagan saved the resultant shot by the old Fylham man. Norwich renewed their attack, and following a corner taken by Austin the third goal was shot home by Wright through a forest of players' legs in the goalmouth. Just before the interval Peart worked his way through and netted the fourth.
Exeter, in no way disheartened, opened the second half in whirlwind fashion, their forwards passing with great skill and continually keeping the Norwich defence guessing.
Ten minutes after resuming one of the Norwich backs handled the ball in the penalty area and Rigby took the spot-kick. He drove the ball hard and low towards the far corner of the goal,
only to see O'Hagan bring off a marvellous save at full length. Norwich pressed again towards the close, and it came as no surprise when Lythgoe obtained possession and drove hard past Fryer, thus registering the fifth goal. Austin further increased the lead, beating Fryer for the sixth time.
CITY RESERVES V NORWICH RESERVES
Exeter City Reserves were engaged this afternoon at home, in the return Southern League match with Norwich City Reserves. The weather was crisp and clear, and the teams lined up, as follows, before an attendance of 1,200.
Exeter: Dart; Flynn and Bell; Litten, Southway, and Clarke; Kelland, Camble, Vowles, Dockray, and Lendon.
Norwich: Dennington; Woolley and Smith; Bradbrook, Gurkin, and Hannah; Rowell, Lane, Stewart, Booth, and Woodhouse.
Referee:- Mr E.E.Small, of Bristol.
Southway captained the Grecians, and won the toss. Lendon and Dockray were soon prominent with a sparkling move on the Exeter left-wing, and the Carlisle man would have scored had he been able to bring the awkward ball under control. Instead, a corner resulted, and from Lendon's flag-kick Dockray headed smartly in towards goal for Dennington to bring off an excellent save. Dennington again excelled himself later on, saving in a space of five minutes a header from Dockray under the bar, a penalty kick taken by Vowles, and a fine rising shot from Clarke.
A minute after the change of ends Bradbrook swung the leather strongly across and Woodhouse headed goal-wards. Dart saved the shot, but was adjudged to have stood behind his goal-line to do so, and a goal was awarded. Camble then equalised, shooting into the top of the net from Vowles's pass. Dennington won further applause for saves from Lendon and Dockray, and the match ended with each side having scored one goal.
