Watford 3-1 ECFC
Saturday, December 19th 1925.Watford 3 FOSTER 2 SWAN 3
Exeter City 1 BLACKMORE
Attendance: 7,500
Watford: Williams; Slade, Gregory; Strain, Eggleton, E.Smith; F.W.Smith, Foster, Pagnam, Swan, Harris.
Exeter City: Bailey; Pollard, Lowton; Pullan, Potter, Shelton; Matthews, McDevitt, Blackmore, Lievesley, Compton.
Although the second half was in favour of Exeter, they had lost three goals in the opening period, and found it impossible to make up the leeway. Compton and Matthews were the pick of the forwards. Lowton did well as Charlton's deputy, and was more dependable than Pollard. The half-backs were better tacklers than purveyors of the ball. Pagnam showed something like his old form for Watford, and led the attack well. Foster's first goal was scored after two minutes, and his second five minutes before half-time. Swan, who played for Huddersfield in the 1920 Cup Final, obtained Watford's second goal in 30 minutes. Exeter's goal, in the second half, was the result of a dribble by Blackmore ending with a well directed shot which comfortably beat Williams and found its way to the net.

After eight minutes Bolam beat Taylor and passed to Casson, whose shot hit the crossbar. The ball rebounded to Kirk, who scored, but by half-time Pontypridd were 3-1 in the lead. Bolam, 20 minutes from the end, and Davis, right on time, rescued one point for Exeter.
