EXETER CITY v BRENTFORD
Stanley Charlton, who has earned official recognition of his fine play by his selection for the F.A. party to tour Australia in the Summer, was playing his last match at St James's Park today. Unfortunately a heavy and prolonged showstorm came along after the luncheon hour, and affected the attendance very considerably, only 3,000 people being present when the game opened.
Saturday, March 21st.

Brentford:
Compton's brilliance in the early stages paved the way for this substantial success, and it was a pity that Exeter did not maintain the splendid form of the first half, when four of their goals were scored without reply from Brentford. The City were vastly the better side whenever the forwards were in form, but Kirk's hard luck with several cross shots seemed to upset him towards the finish. Brentford defence was astonishingly shaky, and Walton, the ex-Bristol Rover, was easily the pick of their half back line. Charlton must have been pleased with the result of his last home match of the season. The defensive barrier set up by the City skipper and Pollard was a tremendous obstacle to the "Bees" in the opening period. Exeter's goals were scored by Compton, Lievesley, Shelton, and Lievesley before the interval, and Shelton ten minutes from the end of the game. Right on time Lane scored for Brentford.
Bridgend v City Reserves
In the Southern League match at Bridgend the City Reserves were defeated by four goals to one. The Reserves' goal was registered by Davis.
