EXETER CITY 1 NEWPORT COUNTY 1.
At full strength again Exeter City were confident in their ability to defeat a moderate Newport County side at St James's Park today. The return of Wrightson and Houghton to the inside forward positions was expected to enhance Exeter's already bright prospects. Hardie, recovered from a groin injury, returned to duty in the half back line, and Davies, after a few games in the Reserves, kept goal. The smallest crowd of the season greeted the players when they came out, and although the weather was gloriously fine the attendance did not exceed 5,000 when Clarke won the toss. Arthur Davies received a special ovation on going to guard the goal at the St James's Road end of the ground.
Exeter City. Davies; Gray and Miller; Clarke, Webb, and Hardie ; Scott, Wrightson, Whitlow, Houghton, and Hurst.
Newport County. Emery; Robinson and McLaughlan; Clarke, John, and Whitehouse; Reynolds, Green, Reed, Burgess, and Thomas.
Referee:- Mr E.R.Westwood.
Exeter took the lead through a remarkable goal scored by Hardie in the second half. Standing on the half-way line and near the touch line he swung the ball into the goalmouth. In the general mix up neither an Exeter or a Newport player touched the ball, which sailed into the net. Reed equalised five minutes from the close. Exeter, unexpectedly held to a draw on their own ground by Newport County, gave their worst display of the season, and there was not a player in the home ranks to enhance his reputation.

Yeovil v Exeter City Reserves
The City Reserves lost at Yeovil by two goals to one. The scoring took place in the first half, and the successful marksman for Exeter was Childs. The City Reserves had Ford, an amateur, in goal, and he brought off one or two very good saves.
Yeovil's Double.
Odd Goal Win Over Exeter City Reserves
Yeovil and Petters gained a well merited victory over Exeter City Reserves on Saturday on the Huish Ground by 2-1 and thus completed the double. The game was keenly contested throughout, but was marred in the closing stages by ill feeling which crept in among the players. Yeovil gave a much improved display and were a different team compared with the performance against Taunton the previous Thursday. They showed all-round strength, the forwards being outstanding, especially Page at centre forward, who gave a sparkling display. The majority of the credit must go to the latter as it was his scheming and clever footwork which enabled the home side to win. The whole of the defence played a stirling game and Pickett, in goal, brought off several brilliant saves. Exeter gave a good account of themselves, especially the halves, who were the strongest department in the team. The visitors had as much of the play territorially in the first half as Yeovil but fell away after the interval and were mainly on the defensive. Ford, the visiting 'keeper, proved very sound, and saved innumerable shots from Page, McNeil and Slade.
Yeovi opened their account after about - ten minutes' play through Slade, who headed a fine goal from Page's centre. Exeter rallied and caused Yeovi to defend for a period. Despite a great effort by Pickett in the home goal to save. Boundy levelled the scores, Just before the interval Coward gave Yeovil the lead from another centre by Page. Yeovil did the bulk of the attacking in the second half, but failed to improve the interval score
