QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS 1
EXETER CITY 1
The Rangers have not been extraordinarily successful in recent years, and following their ill-fated move to the White City and their subsequent return to their old ground the club has been in grave financial difficulty. The transfer of Devine to Birmingham has eased the position to a certain extent, but all their troubles at Loftus Road are not yet over. Only a few days ago Mr O'Brien resigned from his position as manager on the grounds of being able to see eye to eye with the directors on matters of policy.
BAMSEY'S BIG TEST.
For today's game the City made the bold experiment of introducing H.Bamsey, the young amateur from Woodbury, whose advance has been little short of remarkable. Two months ago Bamsey was unheard of outside junior circles. He was then asked to assist the City Reserves and did so, at once creating a favourable impression by his strong defensive play at
centre-half. Today he displaced Webb in that position.

EXETER CITY
The weather remained showery, with bright intervals of sunshine in between the rain. The attendance, which numbered 4,000, was less than usual for the visit of the City to Loftus Road. The lack of numbers was officially accounted for because Chelsea, whose ground is very near, were at home to Portsmouth. Queen's Park Rangers and
Exeter City, who had both won thirteen matches, were almost as evenly matched as their records would suggest, and they shared two goals, and two points, in a hard fought match at Shepherds Bush. Enjoying slightly the better of the exchanges in the first half the Rangers scored their goal fifteen minutes from the start when Farmer ran close in to convert a centre from Abel. Inability to round off their attacks cost the Rangers dearly after the interval, and six minutes from the end Poulter, shaking off the attentions of Goodier for the first time, scored the equalising goal for Exeter.

CITY RESERVES v ST JAMES'S F.C.
Exeter City Reserves entertained St James's in a friendly match at the Park this afternoon, and fielded a strong side for a match of this character.
City: Davies; Easton (Budleigh Salterton) and Smith; Dudley, Webb, and Lewis; V.Hoyle, T.Scott, R.Ebdon, Hurst, and Dryden.
St James's:- Bickley; Fry and Andrews;
Haller, Westcott, and Barnes; Newman, Crees, Oliver, Sutherley, and Lyneley.
Bickley made a couple of excellent saves in the opening minutes, and shortly afterwards Scott fired over the bar from short range. Newman and Oliver were occasionally prominent for St James's, but play was mostly centred round their goal without any scoring being achieved. After ten minutes' play in the second half Ebdon opened Exeter's account from a left-wing pass. Almost immediately a throw-in on the left gave Lyneley a chance which he accepted, placing the ball neatly past Davies into corner of the net. Lewis regained the lead for the City with a shot which all but shattered the net.
