Match 15

Watford (a)
Southern League
Cheltenham (h)
Saturday, November 7th.
WATFORD 1 EXETER CITY 1.
Stanley Pope, the former Tiverton amateur, made his debut for the Grecians at Watford this afternoon, and Tierney was preferred to Chesters in goal, also for the first time in a League match. Showers of rain and hail were the order of the day, and the pitch was slippery on top though quite firm underneath.

EXETER CITY
Watford, who had Stan Hurst at inside left, miseed two good chances in the first five minutes, Barnett being at fault both times. Playing too close a game on the greasy turf Watford's attacks were lacking in pace. Exeter, playing a more robust game, were several times dangerous and McLaren saved from Shadwell and McGill. Watford rearranged their attack in the second half with Davies and Hurst changing places, but the move made little difference. Nothing was scored until a quarter of an hour from the close, when Keane netted for Exeter and Armstrong for Watford.
